Privacy Policy

GlitterDates uses personal information to operate an adult dating community. Full birth dates, email addresses, private location coordinates, and moderation information are not displayed on dating profiles.

1. Who operates GlitterDates

2. Information you provide

• Account information: email address, hashed password, registration and verification times, Terms acceptance, and private date of birth used to enforce the 18+ requirement.
• Profile information: display name, gender identity, optional sexual orientation and visibility choice, relationship goals, interests, headline, bio, and approved photos.
• Preferences: preferred gender identities, age range, maximum distance, and whether distance is strict.
• Location: a city or town you explicitly select from the local GeoNames directory. We store its country and region labels and server-resolved coordinates for distance calculations. We do not ask for a street address or request browser GPS by default.
• Activity and communications: likes, favorites, blocks, matches, private text messages, notification state, reports, and account settings.
• Safety and account records: report details, moderation actions, photo-review decisions, account status, deactivation, and deletion requests.

3. What other members can see

An eligible published profile may show your display name, age rather than birth date, selected city or region, approximate distance, approved photos, profile text, relationship goals, interests, and sexual orientation only when you choose to make it visible. Exact coordinates, postal codes, email, internal identifiers, reports, private moderation notes, and full birth date are not shown.

Mutual matches can access private conversations while the match remains active and unblocked. A member you interact with may retain information you shared or take screenshots outside our control.

4. Information collected through the service

For public pages, first-party analytics record page and landing paths, referral host, campaign parameters, approximate Cloudflare-provided country/region/city data, browser, operating system, device category, timestamps, and pseudonymous hashed visitor and session identifiers. GlitterDates does not store plaintext IP addresses in its analytics tables. Cloudflare and hosting infrastructure may process network information to deliver and protect the site.

We also receive ordinary server and security logs needed to diagnose errors, prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, and protect accounts. These may include request metadata and network addresses for limited operational purposes.

5. Historical pre-registration records

The former launch-notification list remains separate from dating accounts. Historical pre-registration records may include email, verification or unsubscribe state, approximate Cloudflare geography, referral and campaign attribution, and timestamps. We do not automatically create member accounts from that list. Unsubscribe and historical verification links remain available for their original purpose.

6. How information is used

• create and secure accounts, verify email, reset passwords, and enforce adult eligibility;
• build profiles, apply discovery preferences, calculate approximate distance, and create mutual matches;
• deliver private messages and internal notifications;
• review photos, investigate reports, enforce blocks, moderate accounts, and preserve audit history;
• measure public traffic and acquisition using first-party analytics;
• prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and technical failures; and
• comply with lawful obligations and respond to valid legal requests.

7. Sharing and service providers

Information is processed by infrastructure and service providers needed to run GlitterDates, including hosting, database and backup services, Cloudflare for delivery and security, and Resend for transactional account email. Providers receive information needed for their function under their own terms. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect people or the service, or as part of a future organizational transfer subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not describe member information as sold, and no third-party advertising tracker is part of the current service.

8. Storage, security, and retention

GlitterDates applies access controls, password hashing, encrypted storage for administrator MFA secrets, private photo storage with controlled delivery, upload processing that removes image metadata, rate limits, secure sessions, and encrypted off-server backups managed through the hosting platform. No system can guarantee absolute security.

We keep information while an account is active and as reasonably needed to operate the service. Deactivation preserves the account and history. Deletion requests are reviewed rather than immediately hard-deleting all data. Reports, moderation actions, blocks, messages, transactional records, security logs, and backups may be retained when needed for safety, dispute handling, fraud prevention, operational recovery, or legal obligations. Backup copies expire through backup retention cycles.

9. Your choices

You can edit profile details, preferences, orientation visibility, and selected location; manage photos; block members; change your password; deactivate or reactivate your account; and submit or cancel a deletion request through member Settings. You may stop historical pre-registration email with the unsubscribe link in that email.

Depending on applicable law, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing. Send a privacy request from your registered email to [email protected]. We may need to verify the request before acting.

10. Cookies and similar technology

GlitterDates uses essential session, security, CSRF, and optional remember-me cookies, plus first-party public analytics cookies. Details and lifetimes are listed in the Cookies & Technology disclosure.

11. Adults only, international use, and updates

The service is not intended for anyone under 18. If we learn that an underage person provided information, we may suspend the account and take appropriate steps regarding the data. GlitterDates is global, so information may be processed where its infrastructure and providers operate.
