Cookies & Technology
Effective and last updated: September 30, 2026
GlitterDates uses cookies needed for account security and first-party traffic measurement. The current service does not include third-party advertising trackers.
Essential cookies
Laravel session and CSRF-protection cookies maintain sign-in state, protect form submissions, carry validation feedback, and support security controls. An optional remember-me cookie may keep a member signed in when selected. Disabling these cookies can prevent registration, sign-in, settings, messaging, and other authenticated functions from working correctly.
First-party analytics cookies
- gd_vid: a random visitor token lasting up to one year. GlitterDates stores a keyed hash of the value rather than the raw token in analytics records.
- gd_sid: a session cookie used to group public page views during the current browser session.
- gd_landing: a session cookie recording the first safe path in the current visit for landing-page attribution.
These cookies support aggregate page-view, visitor, geography, referrer, landing-page, and campaign reporting in the private administrator dashboard. Analytics are first-party and do not store plaintext IP addresses in the analytics tables.
Cloudflare and infrastructure
Cloudflare helps deliver and protect GlitterDates and may use its own security technology or process network and device information under its policies. GlitterDates uses trusted Cloudflare geography for approximate public analytics and may use it only as a convenience suggestion during member location setup. A member’s explicit directory selection remains authoritative.
Local storage and similar features
The current GlitterDates interface does not depend on advertising pixels or browser GPS. Ordinary browser caching may retain public styles, scripts, images, and pages temporarily for performance. Authenticated and sensitive responses are configured to avoid public caching where appropriate.
Your controls
You can remove or block cookies through browser settings. Removing cookies signs you out, clears session state, and may cause first-party analytics to treat a later visit as new. Because essential cookies support security and requested account functions, GlitterDates does not provide a switch that disables them while keeping those functions active.
